Memorable moment in cricket: Opening stand of 90 with Sir Colin Cowdrey against the Lords Taveners, where I outscored him 4 to 1, including hitting Roy Kinnear for three successive sixes. Note both these great characters are dead now! What does that tell me. And sharing a 60+ partnership with Robin Smith, including hitting Malcolm Marshall for successive fours - through third man.
Anything you'd like to say about the club or cricket in general? The best Cricket Club in the East Midlands, who generally under performed on the pitch - until this season! We need to bring on our youngesters and be the Club of Choice for all good/promising 13/14 year olds in the County

Going to the wicket with the score 80 odd for 8. We took the score up to the 160's and then bowled them out for 120 ish in reply. This was the year that the Saints got to the semi-final.
Memorable moment in cricket:  Playing in Manns KO Cup final at County Ground for Saints.Also facing Les and Carl McFarlane, in their prime, on the Racecourse in the Garnett Cup as a teenager. No helmets in them days.
Anything you’d like to say about the club or cricket in general? Saints is a great club and it has been a pleasure to play with so many great players over the years. My one regret is that I did not join the Saints until I was 23. I wish I had joined whilst at school.

Memorable moment in cricket: So many however, watching Ray Swann walk off the pitch to third man following a “disagreement” with Neil Francis, only to see the next ball edged to the third man boundary, thrown back to the keeper by said Northener and the umpire signaling 4! Raymond then promptly returned to his position at gulley ranks quite highly. Also, being at the non strikers end to witness the imortal words “Wide....not out....over” from the legend that was Ken Harper. Many more “off the pitch” memories which I will always remember, but can’t be repeated on a public website!
Anything you’d like to say about the club or cricket in general?  It’s not the same as the old days! I’ve met some of my closest friends through playing cricket at The Saints and I miss the dressing room banter and antics. People move on, but the memories can’t be taken away. Remember that, and don’t take it for granted. You get out what you put in.
